A sun-drenched February afternoon, and we find ourselves in Anaheim's Packing District--where the scent of ambition mingles with the perfume of frying oil. We bypass the dark warren of the main hall in favor of 18 Folds, an airy little joint staking its claim in the overcrowded world of "Asian fusion." A small menu--a good sign. No bloated index of mediocrity here, just a few dishes standing on their own merits. The sticky edamame? A triumph. Cloaked in a slick, umami-rich sauce that begged to be licked from our fingers. The house special chicken? The kind of crispy, caramelized perfection that makes you reconsider all the bad versions you've suffered through before. We dredged it through the residual sauce from the edamame--an unholy, improvised pairing that worked brilliantly. But then, the dip. Shrimp and noodles? Forgettable. Dumplings? The beige wallpaper of the dim sum world. Service? Present but uninspired, like a cover band half-heartedly playing someone else's hits. Still, the first bites and the open, sunlit space buy them a lot of goodwill. Worth a stop if you're in Anaheim and can survive the parking nightmare. Just order wisely.

Just enjoyed a wonderful early birthday lunch at 18 Folds. Had the shaomai and pork ribs. The pork ribs come with an fragrant green and garlic sauce, but make sure to try their house made chili oil. I also tried their lychee tea, and it was mildly sweet and not overpowering, and really enjoyable. As well, the view and decor make it a great date spot. Definitely reccomend checking this place out during the nighttime. Service was exceptional and made sure I was always taken care of. Great communication with server. Helped me.pick out some of their must try items. Can't wait to reccomrnd this spot! Note: it is right next to the packing district, so parking may become an issue. But there is Valet kf you want.

If you wanna start your 2025 year off right this is the spot! My husband and I were visiting from Oahu and have been here before for lunch for the dim sum and had to come back since we were in town. It's located in the Anaheim Packing District plaza with limited parking so come early or you can valet. If I can give this place more than 5 stars I would! #1 for the service. Big shout out to Miguel for the best service we've had from ANY restaurant. By far one of the most chill and relatable owners we've came across. We really appreciate the ASL, spot on drink recommendations and the vocals! We of course can't forget the food. We ordered the spicy shrimp wontons, shu mai, soup dumplings and crispy ribs. You know everything was finger licking good if the chili oil is dripping down your chin lol YUMMERZ. 10/10 dim sum but we will definitely be back again to try the rest of the menu. Get your food game right and check them out! Mahalo

I absolutely loved this restaurant! We came in after looking through the packing house and deciding we wanted a less crowded restaurant. We decided on 18 fold which is just right outside. We loved all of the beautiful lights and lanterns which created a great atmosphere. Our server was attentive and fast and my plate, the pork and chive dumplings in szechuan style were absolutely divine. I don't remember the last time I enjoyed a meal like this! We also got the cream cheese wontons which I would definitely recommend (so creamy and delicious.) As for drinks, I ordered the Guava Iced Jasmine Tea which had the perfect amount of sweetness and was very refreshing! Overall I couldn't recommend this place enough, I'm definitely coming back with more family and friends!

This was my first time here - we brought my son for his birthday - he comes here with his friends. The ambiance was great, the servers were really nice and the food was delish! I actually think I like this place better than DTF. We had a great selection of the appetizers - shu mai, chicken egg rolls, pork and chive pot stickers, and the most delicious green beans with garlic. Also, the pork fried rice was good. Super meaty, and a really good serving - plenty for all five of us. And I totally recommend that you not pass up having their house made fortune cookies - So light and tasty! Overall, our meal was a good value! I'm definitely coming back to try other dishes.

Came to the Anaheim packing house for dinner. We decided to try this place before exploring the packing house. It was pretty empty for a Friday night dinner time. We were sat right away, and proceeded to order the green beans, the vegetable dumplings and the pork and vegetable dumplings. We also ordered the garlic noodles and the calamari. The server informed us the calamari was not up to the chef's standards, so it wasn't available. They delivered the green beans first, I believe it's a starter. It was amazing!! Smothered in garlic, the green beans were cooked to perfection. Even my 9 year picky eater, said they were "bussing". The dumplings are served with a sauce, that initially looks spicy because of all the chilies, but it wasn't spicy at all. The dumplings were ok, but he sauces made it so much better. The garlic noodles, were also very tasty, served a poached egg. It made the noddles a tad bit creamier. We enjoyed our dinner, but since we wanted to check out some spots inside the packing district, we left with still room to eat (party of 4).
